Go for a walk
Step out your front door
and into the sun;
into the rain;
into the wind;
into the fog;
into the dawn of the day
painted pink on the horizon;
the bright white of high noon;
the whispered hush of the fallen night
Go for a walk
Meander through the neighborhood
and take notice
that's the important part
the noticing
Notice the roses
so loved
so fawned over
trimmed, and watered,
and fed precisely on schedule
Notice the dandelions
so scraggly
forcing their fuzzy
sunshine heads
through the cracks
where the sidewalk
meets the asphalt
Notice
and smile
that's the important part
the smiling
