15/365 - Your Fair Share

I'm so sorry

for what happened to you

before you were found

A mop of matted yellow fur

racing down the street

(a blur)

But you were scooped up!

and bathed!

and brushed!

Though soap and water

couldn't erase

the forlorn look

written on your face

as you stood in the corner

of that steel concrete cage

And that's where we found you

and took you away

to a home

and a bed

and two meals (everyday)

and most importantly of all

(yes even more than walks)

is how much you are loved

because it's lots and lots
